It’s been 5 ½ years since I attended this re-enactment as a private.
The Good:
Carol’s reading soldiers bumps on their heads. Funny.
The Bad:
The Friday night storm. Todd and I missed it but I everyone complained about it.
Someone had flown from California to watch the battle’s because his ancestor fought at the battle. I felt sorry for him.
The Ugly:
This is/was the worst re-enactment ever attended.
Battles where terrible.
Yankees couldn’t or wouldn’t fight.
Saturday we where marched out to due battle with the Yankee’s and they pushed us off the battle field very slowly.
Saturday night a night battle ensued. Half way through observing the battle Todd Stewart, Travis Franklin, and I march out and scare the Yankees half to death. They thought with the drums going that half the Confederate Army had come out. If it wasn’t so sad it would have been funny.
Sunday’s battle was worst than Saturday’s, something on Saturday I would have said wasn’t possible.
This list is what I remember. If you know of someone being there that I have forgotten let me know and I will add them to the list.
